We Rock The Spectrum Kids Gym
Vanessa and Joaquin Tucker are the owners of a new kid’s gym in Owens Cross Roads. They have two boys Julian Tucker 7, and Vincent Tucker 6; whom both attend Goldsmith-Schiffman Elementary School.
Vanessa had a vision to provide her son, Julian who is on the autism spectrum, a resource for him to express himself and enjoy releasing his sensory needs; but not be too overwhelmed by extremely large crowds.
Vanessa felt as though there just weren’t enough resources around town to take Julian to other than therapy that was a safe place for him to enjoy. And their youngest son Vincent who is neurotypical, wanted to go and play everywhere. So, finding a happy medium place for both boys to appreciate was a difficult task for the Tucker Family.
After doing research on sensory centers and prayerful consideration the Tucker Family decided to bring a sensory center to Huntsville, the Tuckers’ decided to look into the international franchise, ‘We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym.’
The Tuckers opened in October and are excited and blessed with the decision that they have made thus far. We are glad to be a blessing for others; the community has embraced our facilities as well surrounding Northern Alabama communities. The Tuckers have already heard of numerous testimonials from parents stating that their children are becoming more social interactive due to the facility; and parents are glad to have a resource that is conducive for all kids. We Rock the Spectrum motto is “A place you never have to say I am sorry” and “Play with a purpose” at that is exactly what you feel when you enter into the We Rock the Spectrum Huntsville facility. The Tuckers enjoy seeing kids from all walks of lives enter into their facility and to see the smile on the children’s face truly brings them great joy!
We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym was founded to provide a place for children of all ability levels to play and grow together. As the only kid’s gym that offers an inclusive philosophy we have found all children can benefit from our uniquely designed sensory equipment that is specifically designed to aid children with sensory processing disorders. In our experience, all children are able to benefit greatly from this equipment! By allowing children of all ability levels to play together, they are able to learn a great deal from each other.
The gym not only provides an open play concept but there are so many other options for all kids as well such as: private birthday parties, Zumba Class, Tumbling Tot Class, School field trips, Community Sponsored events, Toddler open play, Parent Date Nights (monthly), Pre-K Prep program and after school care.
We offer two levels of We Rock Care services: Respite & Breaktime care and One-on-One Attendant Care. Our Respite & Breaktime Care is designed to provide a break for families with children with special needs. We understand how difficult it is to balance the needs of siblings, spouses, or yourself, so this service is designed with you in mind. Children without a special needs diagnosis may also use this service.
