TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is partnering with local businesses, organizations, churches, and more to collect essential care items for moms in crisis. All donations will be gifted to a local shelter as a BIG Mother’s Day present! This year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK will be delivering the Movers For Moms® donations to Downtown Rescue Mission’s women’s & children’s shelter Owen’s House.
When: Collection runs April 1st through May 5th, 2023
Where: North Alabama, Tennessee Valley
Participants: TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, Downtown Rescue Mission, Community Partners
Details: TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is currently looking for partners in this year’s campaign. Types of partners: collection sites, sponsors, promotional/media, & event. Partners need to be confirmed by March 17th to prepare for the kickoff event on March 30th. At the kickoff event, partners will receive their collection boxes and promotional material, tour the shelter, and hear from TWO MEN AND A TRUCK and Downtown Rescue Mission representatives.
Downtown Rescue Mission has given TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® a list of essential care products they need the most. The items include diapers (sizes 5/6/7), tampons, pads, deodorant, body wash, lotion, tissue, baby rice and oatmeal, wipes, razors, chapstick, hair ties, headbands, bar soap, and adult diapers. All items will be delivered on May 12th in time for Mother’s Day.
“Our goal is to make the holiday special for the moms living at Owen’s House shelter,” says Joe Hollingsworth, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Huntsville Franchise Owner.
While the donations are dropped off, a Pamper Day for the women at the shelter will take place. Downtown Rescue Mission is looking for licensed hairstylists, cosmetologists, massage therapists, etc. to pamper the moms.
Volunteers will also be needed for the unload, load, sorting & organizing of donations.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK & Downtown Rescue Mission representatives will be available for interviews.
