Flooring, Kitchen & Bath Trends for 2023

By: Sydney Hyde, Tile Liquidators

Are you considering updating your home this year? Are you curious about what styles will be trending in 2023? In February, four experts from Tile Liquidators attended The International Surfaces Event (TISE) as well as the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Every year we send a few people from our team to explore what is trending and to purchase stock for the coming year. In recent years, interior design trends are changing faster than ever. How can we ever keep up in this ever-changing industry?!

In an effort to help solve this dilemma, I sent a few questions to our team in Vegas regarding the direction interior design will be taking in the next year. Based on their observations while attending the shows, this is the inside scoop…

In terms of wood and “wood-look” flooring they report that natural wood looks are dominating. Lighter natural wood colors have been trending for the last year or so and they are here to stay but joining them on the other end of the color wheel, we are seeing dark rich browns making a comeback! The wood-grain patterns are sleek and simple, giving a clean, timeless look. Whether you’re looking for laminate, luxury vinyl plank, or hardwood, you’ll be seeing more long wide planks also contributing to the effortless aesthetic that seems to be the aim for 2023.

Where color is concerned, all of our experts agree that there seems to be a transition from the long popular grey and white, to earth tones. Colors for 2023 include brown, beige, orange, and mauve, as well as blues and greens for richness. And speaking of color, the professionals agree that adding a splash to your kitchen this year is a must! Our team also confirmed that brass hardware seems to be the most popular choice in 2023 for cabinetry and fixtures.

In addition to what our experts are reporting, I’ve been following TISE and KBIS on social media. My conclusion, interior design for 2023 can be summed up in one word, simplicity. Natural, organic colors and textures are rising, as is the necessity for ease of cleaning and upkeep.
