Summer has officially arrived and you may be gearing up for pool parties, BBQs, and spending as much time as possible enjoying the warm weather. Now is the prefect time to give your outdoor living space a facelift before hosting your family and friends for the summer fun.
Furniture
Your outdoor living space is an extension of the design and impression you have established inside your home. The goal is for your outdoor furniture to compliment your style inside, while standing on its own. Now is the time to assess your existing pieces and replace items that have been well loved. When updating larger furniture pieces, look for neutral fabrics that will last for years to come. Need more seating but don’t want to replace your whole set? Add a new accent chair or two to a seating group. In need of outdoor dining? Consider adding some bench seating to accommodate more people around the table. Even rearranging your existing furniture can help update and refresh your outdoor living.
Rugs
One quick and easy update that you may not have considered is adding a new rug. Rugs are a great way to add texture and dimension to any grouping. Find a neutral color that will pair with your outdoor seating group or a bold print to add something to an outdoor dining. A new rug can add personality and a touch of your unique style back into any outdoor living space.
Throw pillows
Pillows are a quick, easy and cost effective way to update this summer. Pillows are easy to switch out from season to season without having to change your more permanent furniture pieces. Bright, playful colors will show off your personality when paired with a neutral seating material. This is a great area to play with combining prints, textures, and solids to add visual interest.
Accessories
Much like pillows, accessories are a cost effective way to pull together your newly refreshed outdoor living. To begin, take inventory of what you have in your home that can function outdoors before heading to the store. Next, what type of seating group are you working to accessorize? For an outdoor dining table mix materials such as woods, ceramics, and greenery to wow your guests with a gorgeous table setting. For a coffee table in a small seating group find trays and glasses to create a bar vignette. Add greenery or flowers in a ceramic container to finish off the look.
Adding a rug, throw pillows, or a few new accessories will make the impact you are looking for. A few simple changes can brighten your outdoor living and wow your guests this summer.
