On May 7th, the Southeast Family YMCA sponsored a Clean-Up at Ditto Landing as a Togetherhood Project. Togetherhood is the YMCA’s Signature Program for Social Responsibility.
The event was a huge success! About 125 volunteers, of all ages, from all parts of the City and County participated. Volunteers collected 100+ bags of litter, striped 40 parking spaces, pressure washed 200 linear feet of sidewalks, cut-up 2 trees on the walking trail, planted 400 annuals, replaced 40 feet of lumber backing rub rail, and replaced 50 feet of rub rail!

This Clean-Up Day evolved out of a partnership that included the Southeast Family YMCA, Operation Green Team, Keep Alabama Beautiful, City Council President Pro Tem Jennie Robinson, and Brandi Quick the Executive Director of Ditto Landing. But without our Togetherhood Volunteers and you we could not have made it happen. Maybe you told your students or group about the event, included it in a newsletter, sent-out an e-mail, posted our flyer, etc. The support you gave is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
