Design trends are constantly changing, and trends in kitchen and bath renovations are no exceptions.

Knowing the design trends is only part of a great design. The other part is making sure you have a designer who understands what your hopes and dreams are for your kitchen or bath.  DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Huntsville has an award winning designer on staff who will work with you to  provide a complete presentation that includes everything from the selection of cabinets, countertops, lighting, tile, flooring, wall colors and any other materials and finishes that will be used in the space.

To get you thinking about your own kitchen or bath remodel, here are some of the top kitchen and bath design trends for 2022:

New colors, tones, finishes align with nature inspired design:

• White and gray as primary colors are still popular but there is a trend toward nature inspired tones
• Retaining white, but accenting with more color, lighter wood grains
• Nature inspired colors will grow in prominence, including greens and blues
• Warmer hues for neutral color palettes
• Top colors in kitchen (e.g., cabinets, backsplashes) and bath (wall paint/coverings, artwork, vanities and fabrics) are green, blue, golds and other metallics
• For fixtures, less shine, more matte and brushed finishes in black, stainless, nickel, pewter

When designing new spaces, homeowners are thinking about:

CLEANLINESS

• Easy to clean surfaces
• Countertops that are sanitary, non-porous; the strong demand for quartz is expected to continue
• Larger format tile or slabs with less grout
• Touchless faucets

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

• 100% LED lighting
• Dedicated recycling area
• Low-E windows and doors
• Energy star / efficient products
• EPA WaterSense fixtures
• VOC free paint
• Products with recycled materials
• Radiant flooring

UNIVERSAL DESIGN

• Spaces that will allow for aging in place
• Curb-less showers
• Fewer free-standing tubs
• Grab bars
• Seats in showers
• Hand-held shower head
