The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC sits at the top of its class. It has a powerful engine, a wonderfully appointed and sumptuous cabin and an amazing amount of standard features.
GLC Interior
The GLC SUV has 19.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats upright and 56.5 cubic feet when the seats are folded. The front seats give great support especially on longer trips and are quite plush. It’s very easy to find a driving position and there is plenty of headroom for taller occupants; visibility is not affected at all. The back seats are also quite plush and there is plenty of room in the back.
Heated and power adjustable front seats and the leather wrapped steering wheel are standard.
If you have to use the tether for car seats the GLC has two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear outboard seats and a tether anchor for the middle seat. Because of the ease of use this LATCH system received the highest rating of Acceptable from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.
The styling of the interior is what you would expect in a Mercedes and it has a nice quiet ride.
GLC Infotainment, Bluetooth and Navigation
The MBUX infotainment system features a 10.2 inch touch screen. It has easy to use (and read) graphics, simple menus and it responds quickly. It also has climate control buttons on the dashboard, voice recognition system, touchpad on the center console, and touch sensitive buttons on the steering wheel.
Of course, Apple Car Play and Android Auto are standard. The MBUX system also has a navigation system, satellite radio, a Burmester sound system and wireless device charging. To make it even more alluring it has dual zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, push button start and a power lift gate.
GLC Performance
The GLC features a 385hp twin turbo V6, a nine speed automatic transmission and Mercedes exclusive 4Matic (all wheel drive).
GLC Safety
Whenever you talk safety it begins and ends with Mercedes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the GLC an overall rating of five out of five stars.
GLC safety features include, rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, hands free park assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and diver drowsiness monitoring. There are also other safety features available.
The GLC SUV is appealing, powerful, safe and fun to drive. Couldn’t ask for more.
